Foodcollectors Project and Time Schedule
Thursday, March 5, 2009 14:13Few months back, I was assigned a project named Foodcollectors.com. This site is innovative in a thought as it brings people from different diversity to share their collectibles.
The project kicked off with a good pace and most of the work were done within a week. Dave (The project owner) was happy about the project but alas a lightning struck. The project started to slug due to irregular power cuts in Nepal. And now It has been more than 3 months, the project is still being tested and feature being added.
This is just a case of people suffering due to powercut here in Nepal and prominently those people who depend on electricity for their living or to fulfill their hobby. This is a huge setback as Nepal is still emerging as a destination for outsourcing. Many companies here have resorted to alternative source of energy! They can afford to move to alternative resource. But freelan
ce developers working as a singleton may not be able to afford such sources of power.
Foodcollectors is not only the case where I have been longing to work but are unable to code some logical aspect due to powercut. This may be the lamest excuse but it is the truth.
The demo site is available at http://foodcollectors.osysserver.com
