Joomla and Myself
Wednesday, March 4, 2009 3:52Joomla is one of the best OpenSource CMS till date and I am fond and fan of it. I started using it since early 2006 (Earlier I used Mambo – a little). I have learned Joomla all by myself like others. The early days of learning joomla was hectic. I used to code with simple frameworks I created long time back and transit to the simple framework to joomla framework took a little longer than expected.
The learning process was simple with around 5 hrs a day of hit and trial creating a component, installing and testing it. Yes the begining was little tiring. But after few hiccups I learned joomla and Now I create professional Component for clients abroad.
I started with Joomla1.0.x and created few components for myself one including a component that powers Collegekhoja.com – An educational E-Directory for Nepal. The component went under many revisions and finally it is good enough to list all the colleges, detail information about colleges, rating and review system, a feedback and emailing system for colleges. It was a good start though.
Now I work in Joomla1.5.x with MVC. The knowledge on joomla has expanded quite large as I continue working on some professional components.
I will share my knowledge on joomla, its ins and outs in my upcoming posts. Keep reading.

I am a huge fan of joomla too. After transferring my sites to joomla i found it more appealing and am enjoying a good gallery for my products too, thanks to joomla components.
